Fifty-one years after April 30, 1975, the Vietnamese diaspora continues to carry a story shaped by displacement, resilience, and rebuilding. Our elders arrived with little but determination, creating community institutions, preserving culture, and ensuring that the next generation would have opportunities they did not.
Today, we are part of that continuing story.
At the Vietnamese American Roundtable, our work is rooted in the belief that our community deserves the resources, leadership, and spaces needed to thrive. From developing youth leaders through SEEDS, to preserving history through Black April commemorations, to building the Alma Community Center as a gathering place for organizing and connection, we are investing in the strength and future of Vietnamese Americans.
But meaningful community work requires long-term stability. Too often, community organizations operate from one grant cycle to the next, responding to urgent needs without the consistent support necessary to build sustainably. If we want our community institutions to endure, we must invest in them together.
That is why we are launching ‘51 Supporters for 51 Years’, a monthly giving campaign inviting our community to become part of the 1975 Legacy Circle. This campaign is not simply about fundraising. It is about building a culture of shared responsibility and collective investment in the future of our community.
Monthly support allows us to plan beyond the immediate moment. It allows us to nurture youth leadership, preserve our history, expand civic engagement, and ensure that spaces like the Alma Community Center remain accessible to generations to come. Even small, consistent contributions create the stability that community organizations need to grow and lead.
When you become a supporter, you are not just making a donation. You are helping sustain a legacy built by those who came before us, while creating opportunities for those who will come after us.
Our elders rebuilt from loss.
Our generation builds with intention.
The next generation deserves stability.
We invite you to join us in this effort and become one of the 51 supporters helping to carry this work forward.
Together, we can ensure that our community’s voice, history, and leadership continue for the next 51 years.
With gratitude,
Vietnamese American Roundtable
